Setting Up Your E-mail in Microsoft Outlook 2007

This tutorial shows you how to set up Microsoft Outlook to work with your email account. You can set up previous versions of Microsoft Outlook using the settings in this tutorial.

To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook 2007

1. To setup an E-mail account click on Tools then Account Settings.
   
2. Click on New...
   
3. Click on Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP. Click Next.
   
4. Click on Add New E-mail Account, then enter the following:
   
   

   Your Name

   Enter your first and last name.

   E-mail Address

   Enter your e-mail address.

   Password

   Enter the password you set up for your e-mail account.

   Retype Password

   Enter your password again.

Click Next.

5. Outlook will test your settings. If successful click Finish. If unsuccessful make sure e-mail address and password is correct. Also make sure e-mail address is a POP3 account.
   
6. Select the e-mail address account you just created and click Change.
   
7. Select the Remember Password checkbox, and then click More Settings.
   
8. In the Internet E-mail Settings window, click on the Outgoing Server tab.
   Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select Log on using.
   Then enter the same username and password you used in step 4.
   Check the Remember Password checkbox and click OK.
   
9. Click on the Advanced tab. Make sure that Incoming server (POP3): is set to 110
   and Outgoing server (SMTP): is set to 25. Click OK.
   
10. Click Next.
    
11. Click Finish.
